Is Armstrong down? How to check for an outage and what to do
Armstrong posts outages in your account rather than on a public map. Here is how to confirm one, what to try while you wait, and who to call.
Sign in to My Account at armstrongonewire.com; if there's a known outage in your area, a notice appears at the top of your dashboard. You can also sign up there for text or email outage alerts. If nothing is posted, restart your modem and router, test with a device plugged in by cable, then call Armstrong support at 1-877-277-5711, which is staffed around the clock (limited emergency help from midnight to 7 a.m.).
Covers Armstrong residential internet, TV and phone. Business customers have separate support lines, listed below.
How to check if Armstrong is down
- Check My Account. Sign in at armstrongonewire.com. A notice across the top of the dashboard means Armstrong knows about an outage in your area.
- Turn on outage alerts. In My Account you can sign up for text or email alerts so you hear about outages and fixes without calling.
- Check Armstrong's social media. During the October 2026 outage, Armstrong posted updates and restoration notices there.
- Look at outage trackers. A sudden spike on Downdetector or similar sites from your area points to a wider problem.
- Test on a wired device. If a computer plugged into the modem has no connection, the problem is Armstrong's service, not your Wi-Fi. Our speed test shows whether you're offline or just slow.
The October 21-22, 2026 Armstrong outage
Armstrong customers lost internet, TV and home phone service on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 21. Outage reports spiked between about 6 and 8 p.m. ET, with problems reported in western Pennsylvania, the Mahoning and Shenango valleys in Ohio, and other Armstrong areas. Armstrong's app and website were hard to reach for some customers, and phone wait times ran long.
Armstrong blamed an issue in its network and said most service was restored by the next morning, though some customers in Butler County were still without service on Oct. 22. Butler County Emergency Services reminded residents to use cell phones for 911, since cell service wasn't affected.

What the problem usually is
| What you notice | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Internet, TV and phone all out | Line or area outage | Check My Account; report it if nothing is posted |
| Internet out, TV works | Modem or internet-only problem | Restart the modem; check the coax and power |
| Wi-Fi out, wired device works | Router or Wi-Fi pods | Restart the router; check pod lights |
| Only slow at night | Congestion or Wi-Fi coverage | Run a speed test wired and on Wi-Fi |
| Home phone dead | Internet or power outage | Armstrong phone runs over your internet line; use a cell phone |
Fixes to try if there is no outage
- Unplug the modem and router for a full minute, plug the modem in first, and wait five minutes before plugging in the router.
- Check the coaxial cable at the wall and the modem; hand-tighten loose connectors.
- If you use Armstrong's Wi-Fi pods (Plume HomePass), check that each pod has power and isn't too far from the main router.
- Plug a computer into the modem with an Ethernet cable. If that works, the problem is Wi-Fi; see how to tell your internet from the service.
- Still down? Call 1-877-277-5711 or chat, ask Armstrong to test your line, and get a ticket number.
Home phone during an outage
Armstrong home phone service runs over the same connection as your internet, so it stops working in an internet outage, and in a power outage unless you have battery backup for the modem. Keep a charged cell phone for 911. A small battery backup (UPS) for the modem and router can keep you online through short power cuts; see how to keep internet during a power outage.
Getting a credit
Armstrong doesn't publish an automatic outage credit. After service comes back, call or chat, give the dates and times you were out and your ticket number, and ask for a prorated credit. Outages that last a day or more are the easiest to get credited.
If Armstrong outages keep happening
Note the dates and times of each outage; a pattern helps when you ask Armstrong for a technician visit or a credit. To compare, see what else serves your address with our address check. In much of Armstrong's area, 5G home internet from T-Mobile or Verizon, or Starlink in rural areas, can work as a main connection or a backup; see backup internet options.
