Is Frontier down? How to check for an outage

Frontier shows outages in the MyFrontier app and on its website, and it can text you updates. If there's no outage, the problem is usually at home.

Open the MyFrontier app and tap Support, or check outages by address on frontier.com. Text OUTAGE to 70994 for updates without signing in. If no outage shows, restart the router and test with a cable. Frontier has been part of Verizon since January 2026, but support is still through Frontier.

Before anything else, run a quick speed test. If it fails or shows almost nothing on every device, check for an outage. If one device is slow and others are fine, the problem is that device or your Wi-Fi.

How to check if Frontier is down

Open MyFrontier. Tap Support. An outage at your address shows there, and you can sign up for outage text alerts.
Check frontier.com. Frontier's help center has an outage check by address.
Text OUTAGE to 70994. If your service is affected, Frontier texts updates until it's fixed. You can text again any time to check.
Look at the router. On Frontier's eero equipment, a solid white light means connected and a red light means the connection to Frontier is down.

If there's no outage

Unplug the router (and the ONT power if you have one) for a minute, then plug it back in and wait a few minutes. Test on a computer plugged in with an Ethernet cable. If wired works and Wi-Fi doesn't, the problem is Wi-Fi. Our guide to telling your internet from the service walks through it.

Contact Frontier

Current customers can chat in the MyFrontier app or call Frontier support at 1-800-921-8101. Have your account number ready. If service was out for more than a day, ask for a bill credit for the time you were down.
