Our verdict

Cricket Wireless, AT&T's prepaid brand, launched Cricket 5G Home Internet on September 16, 2026. It's fixed wireless on AT&T's 5G network, like AT&T Internet Air: a gateway at home picks up the cell signal and turns it into WiFi. Cricket's Broadband Facts label lists typical speeds of 90–300 Mbps down, 8–30 up and 30–65 ms latency, with unlimited data.

The price depends on your phone plan. The label price is $65/mo, with plan taxes included. AutoPay takes $5 off from the second month and any Cricket phone plan takes $15 off, for $45. New customers can get home internet and Cricket's Sensible 10GB phone plan together for $75. The gateway is a one-time $49.99 purchase.

At $45 next to a Cricket line it's competitive with T-Mobile 5G Home and Verizon 5G Home at $35–50 with their phone plans. On its own at $60–65 it's harder to recommend. Speeds drop when the network is busy, so read is 5G home internet worth it before you switch from cable or fiber.

Frequently asked

How much is Cricket 5G Home Internet?

$65/mo before discounts, with plan taxes included. AutoPay takes $5 off from the second month, and any Cricket phone plan takes $15 off, for $45/mo. New customers can bundle home internet with the Sensible 10GB phone plan for $75/mo. The gateway costs $49.99 plus tax.

What network does Cricket home internet use?

AT&T's 5G network. Cricket is owned by AT&T.

How fast is Cricket 5G Home Internet?

Cricket's Broadband Facts label lists typical download speeds of 90–300 Mbps, uploads of 8–30 Mbps and latency of 30–65 ms. Speeds depend on the signal at your address and can slow when the network is busy.

Does Cricket home internet have a data cap?

No. Data is unlimited, but Cricket may slow speeds when the network is busy, and if your usage contributes to congestion it can greatly reduce your speed for at least 30 minutes.

Is there a contract or credit check?

Neither. Cricket home internet has no annual contract, no credit check and no activation fee.

Can I take Cricket home internet with me?

No. It's tied to the address you signed up with. If you move, check whether your new address is eligible before using the gateway there.

How do I get Cricket 5G Home Internet?

Check your address on Cricket's home internet page first. Cricket's page lists the service as in-store only: order at a Cricket store, which can have the gateway delivered to your door, then set it up yourself with the myCricket Internet app in about 15 minutes.

Is Cricket home internet the same as AT&T Internet Air?

It runs on the same AT&T 5G network, but it's a separate Cricket plan launched in September 2026. Before that, some Cricket stores sold AT&T Internet Air itself (about $47/mo with AutoPay), which is why older posts quote that price.

Do I need a Cricket phone plan?

No, but without one you pay $15/mo more ($60 with AutoPay, $65 without).

Speeds and reliability in practice

Cricket's Broadband Facts label lists typical speeds of 90–300 Mbps down and 8–30 Mbps up, with 30–65 ms latency. Those are the same download and upload ranges AT&T lists for Internet Air, which runs on the same network, though Cricket lists higher latency (AT&T says 25–50 ms).

Because the service launched in September 2026, there aren't many long-term owner reports yet. The terms matter more than usual: Cricket can slow speeds whenever the network is busy, and if your usage is contributing to congestion it can "greatly reduce" your speed for at least 30 minutes. That rule shows up in early Reddit threads. On a strong 5G signal it is fine for streaming and video calls; on a weak one, evenings will be slower.

Getting a good signal

  • Put the gateway near a window on the side of the house facing the nearest tower, and off the floor.
  • Run a speed test in a few spots before settling on one; the myCricket Internet app shows signal strength.
  • Remember it only works at your sign-up address. You can't move it to a vacation home or another apartment without checking eligibility first.

Who Cricket 5G Home Internet is for

  • Existing Cricket customers: $45/mo with taxes included is a fair price next to the phone plan you already pay for.
  • New customers who need both: home internet plus the Sensible 10GB phone plan for $75/mo.
  • Renters and anyone avoiding credit checks or contracts.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone without a Cricket phone line. At $60–65 alone, T-Mobile and Verizon 5G Home cost less and include the equipment.
  • Competitive gamers. 30–65 ms latency and busy-hour slowdowns are a poor fit; see how to lower ping.
  • Heavy uploaders, at 8–30 Mbps up.
