Our verdict

Home MINTernet is Mint's prepaid take on T-Mobile 5G home internet, and the bundle is the reason to look: $540 up front buys twelve months of unlimited home internet plus twelve months of an unlimited phone plan, an effective $45/mo for both.

The catch isn't the speed — 133–415 Mbps with 16–28 ms latency is genuinely fine for most households — it's the cash. This is a lump-sum product dressed as a monthly rate, and the tier table is a mess: the 6-month plan costs more per month than the 12-month one.

For a one or two-person household that can float the upfront payment, nothing else comes close on price. If you need fast uploads, heavy tethering or HD streaming, buy fiber instead.

Frequently asked

How much does Home MINTernet actually cost?

Internet alone runs $40/mo on a 12-month plan ($480 up front) or $40/mo intro on 3 months, renewing at $50. The headline bundle is $540 up front for 12 months of internet plus 12 months of unlimited wireless — about $45/mo for both. Adding a Mint phone plan knocks $10/mo off the internet.

Is it billed monthly?

No. Mint is prepaid: you pay the full term up front. The monthly figures are the term price divided by its length, not what leaves your account each month.

What is the No Bill Creep Guarantee?

On eligible plan bundles Mint commits not to raise the price of talk, text and 5G data on its network for at least five years. Taxes and fees are excluded, but it is the strongest price-lock language we've read from any carrier.

How fast is it really?

Mint publishes typical speeds of 133–415 Mbps down, 12–55 Mbps up, at 16–28 ms latency. Data is unlimited, but speeds may slow above 1 TB per month when the network is busy.

Can I add more phone lines to the bundle?

The bundle covers one unlimited line. Extra lines are bought as separate Mint plans, which erodes the flat-price simplicity at larger household sizes.
