Our verdict
Twigby exists for a specific person: someone on Wi-Fi most of the day who wants a working phone line at the lowest sensible price, without a credit check standing in the way.
It is an MVNO, so it rents capacity from a larger carrier and your traffic is deprioritized when towers are busy. That matters less than it sounds if you are mostly on Wi-Fi, and a great deal if you are not.
The lineup runs $10 for talk and text, $15 for 2 GB, $20 for 5 GB, $25 for 10 GB and $35 for 20 GB, each discounted for the first three months. Taxes sit on top, so add roughly $1.50 to $2.50.
The crossover point matters: at 2 GB Twigby is half the price of Visible, and at 20 GB it costs more. Work out what you actually use on cellular rather than on Wi-Fi, then pick.
