Moving or cancelling

Frontier lets current customers schedule installation at a new address up to 45 days in advance. If you're cancelling, call 1-800-921-8101, confirm the end date and ask how to return the router. Our moving checklist and guide to cancelling internet cover the rest.

Frontier and Verizon

Verizon completed its purchase of Frontier on January 20, 2026. Frontier accounts, the MyFrontier app and the numbers above still work. Read our Frontier review for plans and prices.

Tips for getting help faster

  • Have your account number and the account holder's details ready.
  • Restart your router before calling for slow speeds; support will ask you to.
  • Run a speed test on a wired device so you can share the result.
  • Ask for a ticket number and note the date of the call.

Try these before you call

  1. Check for an outage in the MyFrontier app. If there is one, calling won't fix it faster.
  2. Restart the router or gateway: unplug it for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 5 minutes.
  3. Test on a device wired to the router with Ethernet. If wired is fine and Wi-Fi is slow, the problem is Wi-Fi, not the line.
  4. Run a speed test and note the result to share with support.
  5. Check cables and the lights on the equipment. Why is my internet slow? covers more fixes.

Billing help

  • AutoPay: set it up in the MyFrontier app or at frontier.com. Some Frontier plan prices assume AutoPay; check your plan terms.
  • Missed payment: pay in the app or by phone at 1-800-801-6652, then call 1-800-921-8101 if you need a payment arrangement.
  • Unexpected charge: compare your bill to the order confirmation, then call and ask for the charge to be explained and removed if it was not agreed.
  • Outage credit: if you were offline for a day or more because of a Frontier outage, ask for a prorated credit.

Router and equipment

Frontier Fiber usually includes a router; many newer installs use eero. The router lights help: a solid white or green light usually means connected, while red or flashing amber means a problem. See is Frontier down? for what each status means and how to reset.

How to cancel Frontier

  1. Book your new service first so you're not offline.
  2. Call 1-800-921-8101 and say you want to cancel internet.
  3. Expect a retention offer; ask for it in writing if it interests you.
  4. Confirm the last day of service and how to return the router (often a prepaid shipping label).
  5. Ship the equipment with tracking and keep the receipt.

If support can't fix it

  1. Ask for a supervisor or the Frontier escalation team, and note the ticket number.
  2. Put the problem in writing through the account messages or a letter, with dates and ticket numbers.
  3. File a free complaint with the FCC at fcc.gov/complaints. Providers must respond, usually within 30 days.
  4. Contact your state utility commission or attorney general's consumer office for billing disputes.

Keep every confirmation number, the names of agents you speak with, and screenshots of your bill.
