The short answer

YouTube TV's Base Plan costs $82.99 a month, the same price since its last increase in January 2025. Since February 2026 you can pick a smaller genre plan instead, from $54.99 for Entertainment and $64.99 for Sports up to $77.99 for Sports + News + Entertainment. Every plan includes unlimited DVR, six household accounts and three streams at once. New subscribers usually get a discount for the first few months. If you watch sports and entertainment, the Base Plan is still the best value; compare it with Sling, Hulu + Live TV and Fubo in the best live TV streaming services.

Prices are YouTube TV list prices before taxes and regional sports fees, from the sources listed below. Genre plan prices are as shown at sign-up and reported by the sources; check tv.youtube.com for your ZIP code before you sign up.

Channel counts vary by market and by source. Combination plan prices are rounded in some reports; YouTube shows the exact price at sign-up and under Settings > Membership. The Spanish Plan is sold on its own, without a YouTube TV membership.

Until February 2026, YouTube TV sold one package. The genre plans were added first as Sports and Entertainment, then expanded in March to about a dozen combinations. YouTube's welcome page links to the Sports plan, but the other combinations are easiest to find when you sign up or change your membership.

What every plan includes

  • Local channels. ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and PBS in most markets, plus CW, Telemundo and Univision in many. Which affiliates you get depends on your ZIP code.
  • Unlimited cloud DVR. Record as much as you want; recordings are kept for nine months.
  • Six household accounts, each with its own recordings and recommendations.
  • Three streams at once, plus multiview for watching up to four games on one screen during sports.
  • No contract and no equipment. You stream through an app, so there's no box rental or installation fee.

What's in each genre plan

Sports Plan: $64.99

Local broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) plus the main national sports channels, such as ESPN, FS1, NFL Network and NBA TV. It skips entertainment, news and kids' channels. It's built for fans who only turn the TV on for games. Regional sports networks still depend on your area and may carry a fee.

Entertainment Plan: $54.99

Local channels plus cable entertainment networks such as FX, Bravo, AMC, HGTV, Food Network and Hallmark. No ESPN or other sports networks, though you still get games on local ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.

News and Family groups

The News group adds CNN, Fox News, MS NOW, CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg, Newsmax, NewsNation and similar channels. The Family group adds Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Cartoon Network and National Geographic. These come only in combinations, such as News + Entertainment or News + Entertainment + Family.

Spanish Plan

A standalone package of Spanish-language networks, such as CNN en Español, beIN Sports en Español and Cine Latino, that you can buy without YouTube TV. Base Plan subscribers who want extra Spanish channels can add the Spanish Plus add-on instead.

That's five increases in eight years, more than doubling the launch price. YouTube TV is month to month with no price lock, so it can raise the price again with notice. How to pay less for YouTube TV

  1. Take the new-subscriber offer. YouTube TV usually discounts the first few months; this year offers have ranged from about $10 to $23 off a month for three to five months, and the Sports Plan has been offered at $44.99 for six months. Set a reminder for when it ends.
  2. Use the free trial. Trial length changes; recent trials have been about five days.
  3. Pick a genre plan if you only watch one or two kinds of channel. The Entertainment Plan saves $28 a month, or $336 a year.
  4. Pause instead of paying through the off-season. YouTube TV lets you pause your membership and keeps your recordings, which helps if you mostly watch football or basketball.
  5. Drop add-ons you don't use. 4K Plus only pays off with a 4K TV and 4K events.
  6. Try canceling. YouTube TV sometimes offers a discount to stay. If it doesn't, you can rejoin later, and new-subscriber offers sometimes apply again.
  7. Check your carrier and internet perks. Some phone and internet plans include streaming discounts; see internet and phone bundle discounts.

Is YouTube TV worth $82.99?

For most households that want local channels, sports and cable networks in one app, yes. It's usually cheaper than a cable TV package once you count box rental and broadcast fees, and its unlimited DVR is the best of the live TV services. If you only want a few channels, a genre plan or a cheaper service saves more, and if you mostly watch on-demand shows, Netflix, Hulu or Peacock cost far less. Our full YouTube TV review covers channels, DVR and satisfaction scores.

Internet speed and data for YouTube TV

One HD stream needs about 7 Mbps to play reliably, and a 4K stream about 25 Mbps. With three streams at once plus everyone's phones and laptops, a plan of 100 Mbps or more avoids buffering. HD live TV uses roughly 2 to 3 GB an hour and 4K about 7 GB or more, so a household that streams several hours a day can pass 1 TB a month; check data caps if your provider has one.

If live sports stutter, run our speed test while the game is on and see the best internet for streaming. A slow TV app can also be the problem; a streaming device usually fixes it. YouTube TV runs on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, game consoles, most smart TVs, phones and web browsers.

How to cancel or pause

On a computer or phone, go to your profile picture, then Settings > Membership, and choose Pause or Cancel. Canceling keeps access until the end of the billing period. Pausing stops billing for the period you choose and keeps your recordings. If you signed up through Apple, cancel in your Apple subscriptions instead.
