HughesNet Business
Geostationary satellite for small businesses, from $59.99/mo for the first year, with free commercial installation and Express Repair Premium included. Every plan needs a 24-month commitment.
Our verdict
HughesNet Business sells three plans: Select Pro (up to 50 Mbps, 100 GB of priority data) at $59.99/mo, Elite Pro (up to 100 Mbps, 200 GB) at $74.99 and Fusion Pro (up to 100 Mbps, 200 GB, satellite plus wireless) at $104.99. Those prices last 12 months and include a $5 discount for bank AutoPay; after that they rise to $84.99, $99.99 and $129.99.
The service is built on geostationary satellites about 22,000 miles up, so latency runs around 600 ms on Select Pro and Elite Pro. That is fine for email, card payments and browsing, but video calls lag and VPNs slow down noticeably. Fusion Pro routes time-sensitive traffic over a wireless link, which makes calls much smoother where it is available.
The bigger issue is the 24-month commitment. Starlink Business starts at $55/mo with no contract and far lower latency, and Hughes's parent filed for Chapter 11 in August 2026. Choose HughesNet Business only where Starlink and 5G business internet can't serve your site, and prefer Fusion Pro if you take calls. Starlink Business review
HughesNet Business plans and who they suit
Priority data
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of priority data: 100 GB on Select Pro and 200 GB on Elite Pro and Fusion Pro. After that you keep unlimited standard data, but it can be slowed behind other traffic at busy times. HughesNet notes that the more devices you connect, the faster the allowance goes, and it does not recommend the service for full-time video streaming.
Fusion Pro
Fusion Pro combines satellite with a wireless connection and uses whichever path suits the traffic. HughesNet sells it for video conferencing and real-time use, and it is the only HughesNet plan it supports for fast multiplayer games. It is not available everywhere.
Who it suits
Small offices, shops and home businesses in places without cable, fiber or reliable 5G: up to about four users on Select Pro and six on Elite Pro or Fusion Pro, by HughesNet's own sizing. For backup alongside a wired line, see business internet failover.

Frequently asked
How much does HughesNet Business cost?
Select Pro is $59.99/mo, Elite Pro $74.99 and Fusion Pro $104.99 for the first 12 months, then $84.99, $99.99 and $129.99. Prices include a $5 bank AutoPay discount; equipment is extra.
Is there a contract?
Yes. Every HughesNet Business plan needs a 24-month commitment, and early termination fees apply if you cancel before it ends.
What happens when priority data runs out?
You keep unlimited standard data, but it can be slower than other traffic at busy times until your allowance resets.
Is HughesNet Business good for video calls?
On Select Pro and Elite Pro, calls work but lag because of satellite delay of around 600 ms. Fusion Pro adds a wireless link that makes calls much smoother where it is offered.
Is HughesNet going out of business?
Hughes Satellite Systems filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2026 and says it will keep serving customers while it reorganizes. That adds risk to a new 24-month commitment.
Is HughesNet Business available at my business?
Satellite reaches almost any address with a clear view of the sky, but plans and wait times vary by area. Check every provider at your address to see whether a wired or 5G option is also there.
Do I need backup internet with HughesNet Business?
Heavy storms can interrupt satellite service. If your business can't go offline, a cheap 5G line such as T-Mobile Business Internet Backup covers outages. See our business failover guide.
HughesNet Business vs. Starlink Business: which is better?
Starlink is faster with much lower latency, so video calls and cloud apps work far better. HughesNet costs less up front and suits light use like email, card payments and browsing. Read our Starlink Business review.
