Verizon Fios deals for new vs. existing customers

Fios treats existing customers better than most providers. The price guarantee and the Mobile + Home discount are open to them; the gift cards and switching credit are for new customers.

In brief

Verizon's 3- and 5-year price guarantees apply to new and existing customers on an eligible plan, and the Mobile + Home discount works for anyone with Verizon mobile. New customers also get Amazon gift cards on some plans, setup waived with Mobile + Home, and up to $500 toward a cancellation fee from their old provider.

What existing customers can do

  1. Move to a current plan. The price guarantee covers the base monthly rate on eligible current plans, for existing customers too. Older plans aren't covered.
  2. Add Mobile + Home. If you have or add a Verizon mobile plan, the discount comes off your Fios bill.
  3. Check your Auto Pay discount. Prices assume Auto Pay; Fios 300 is $10 more without it.
  4. Ask about a different speed. Prices run $30 to $100 a month across 300 Mbps to 5 Gig, so dropping a tier can save more than any promo.

What existing customers can't get

Gift cards and the cancellation-fee credit are for new accounts, and gift cards require keeping service in good standing for 65 days. The guarantee covers the base rate only, not discounts, perks or equipment. See our Verizon Fios review for current prices.

What to say when you call

Ask for the retention or loyalty team, not general support. Say what you pay now, what a competitor charges at your address, and ask two things: can you move to a current plan, and is there a discount to stay. Our guide to negotiating an internet price increase has the full script, and checking what else reaches your address gives you the competitor price.

Verizon's network without the Verizon bill

Visible is Verizon's prepaid brand and runs on the same network. It doesn't qualify for the Fios mobile discount, so compare the totals.

Does the Fios price guarantee apply to existing customers?

Verizon says it applies to new and existing home internet customers on an eligible plan, covering the base monthly rate only.
