Xfinity price increase 2026: why your bill went up and what to do

Why Xfinity bills rise, what the 5-year price guarantee covers, and how to pay less.

The short answer

Most Xfinity increases come from a promotion ending or a lost $10 AutoPay discount. Regular prices are much higher than promo prices: 300 Mbps is $80 a month regular, against $45 with the 5-year price guarantee. Ask to move to a current plan, and compare what else reaches you before you accept a higher bill.

Why your Xfinity bill went up

Most Xfinity price jumps come from one of three things. The first is a promotional rate ending: older Xfinity plans often started with a 1- or 2-year promo price, then moved to the regular price. The second is a lost discount, usually AutoPay with a bank account and paperless billing, which is worth $10 a month. The third is TV, streaming and equipment charges, which can rise separately from your internet price.

Is Xfinity raising prices in 2026?

We haven't found an across-the-board Xfinity internet price increase announced for 2026, and new internet plans come with a 5-year price guarantee. TV is a different story. Xfinity says some TV prices went up starting in December 2025 because networks charge it more for their channels, and StreamSaver streaming bundles rose from $15 to $18 a month on December 22, 2025. In early 2026 it also moved to new all-inclusive TV packages. If you have TV with Xfinity, that's the most likely reason your bill rose. If your internet line item itself went up, check whether a promotion ended before you call.

What the 5-year price guarantee covers

New Xfinity customers on current plans get the same internet price for 5 years, with WiFi equipment and unlimited data included and no annual contract. The guarantee covers the internet rate only. It doesn't cover TV, taxes and fees, or add-ons, and it requires bank AutoPay and paperless billing. Older plans aren't covered, and some still carry a data cap.

How to lower your Xfinity bill

Start by checking your bill for an expired promotion or a lost AutoPay discount. If you're on an older plan, ask Xfinity to move you to a current plan with the 5-year price guarantee; you may pay less and drop a data cap at the same time. Our guide to negotiating an internet price increase covers what to say.

When you call, ask two specific questions. First, can you move to a current plan with the 5-year price guarantee? Several long-time customers on Reddit say they were switched onto it after asking. Second, ask for the retention or loyalty team rather than general support, and have a competitor's price for your address ready; retention reps usually have more room to discount. Xfinity also runs an official support team on Reddit (r/Comcast_Xfinity) that reviews billing questions if you make a public post.

If Xfinity won't budge, compare what else reaches you. Verizon Fios starts at $30 with Auto Pay where it's available, T-Mobile 5G Home is $50 or $35 with a phone line, and Xfinity's own prepaid NOW Internet is $30 all-in. Check your address to see your options.
