How to cancel T-Mobile Home Internet
T-Mobile 5G Home Internet has no contract, so cancelling is free. The one thing to get right is returning the gateway.
Call 1-800-866-2453, or dial 611 from a T-Mobile phone, and say you want to cancel Home Internet. It is cancelled separately from your phone lines. There is no annual contract or cancellation fee. T-Mobile sends a prepaid label for the gateway; return it promptly or you can be billed for it. Any Home Internet discount on your phone plan ends too.
What cancelling costs
How to cancel
- Set up your new service first. See what reaches your address.
- Call 1-800-866-2453 or 611 from a T-Mobile phone and ask to cancel Home Internet only.
- Confirm your phone lines stay active and what they will cost without the Home Internet discount.
- Get a confirmation number and the return label for the gateway.
Expect one more bill. T-Mobile customers report that cancellation isn't immediate: service is billed through the end of the current billing cycle, so time your cancel call just before your bill date.
Return the gateway
Pack the gateway and power cord, attach the prepaid label and drop it at the carrier on the label. Keep the receipt with tracking until the return shows on your account.
Want to stay but pay less?
Ask the retention agent for the current new-customer price before you agree to cancel. See how to negotiate your internet bill.
Switching instead?
Compare Verizon 5G Home, AT&T Internet Air and the cheapest 5G home internet. If cable or fiber reaches you, it is usually faster and steadier than 5G.
