Number to cancel internet: every major provider (2026)
The number that reaches each provider's cancellation team, whether you can cancel online, what it costs and how long you have to return equipment.
Most internet providers only cancel by phone or in a store. Of the nine below, Verizon is the only one that lets every customer disconnect online. Xfinity lets you book a cancellation callback online, and some AT&T Internet Air accounts in Illinois and Massachusetts can cancel at att.com/myatt. HughesNet is the only one that charges an early termination fee on current plans. All of them bill you for leased equipment you don't return.

Before you call
- Get your new service installed first so you're never offline. Check what's available at your address.
- Expect a retention offer. If price is your only reason for leaving, our guide to negotiating a price increase covers what to ask for.
- Move any phone lines that depend on the internet plan. Spectrum Mobile, for example, requires Spectrum Internet.
- Ask for your end date and the equipment return deadline, and keep the return receipt.
