Frontier Fiber price after 12 months: what happens

Frontier's price doesn't jump after a year the way many cable promos do. Here's what does change, and the fees to watch.

In brief

Nothing, if you're on a current plan: Frontier guarantees the price for 4 years on Fiber 500 and 5 years on 1 Gig and faster. What can change is fees: AutoPay method, equipment returns and, on reward-card offers, a 1-year agreement.

What can still raise your bill

  • How you pay. The best price needs AutoPay from a bank account. Card AutoPay costs $5/mo more, and no AutoPay $10 more.
  • Installation. Expert installation is $100 on Fiber 500.
  • Reward-card offers. Online reward-card deals require a 1-year agreement with a prorated early termination fee.
  • Leaving. A $50 restocking fee on disconnect, plus up to $150 per unreturned device ($500 on 5 and 7 Gig).
  • Taxes and fees aren't covered by the guarantee.

When the guarantee ends

After 4 or 5 years the plan moves to Frontier's standard rate. Ask Frontier for the standard rate in writing when you sign up, and set a reminder for a month before the guarantee ends. See how to negotiate and the 2026 Price Lock Index.

See our Frontier review. Frontier is now part of Verizon.

Frontier plans at a glance

  • Every plan is symmetrical fiber up to 7 Gig, with no data caps.
  • A Wi-Fi 7 eero router is included on every plan; Whole-Home Wi-Fi is included on 1 Gig and faster.
  • Expert installation is free on 1 Gig and faster and $100 on Fiber 500.
  • Verizon now owns Frontier, so Verizon phone customers get $15/mo off.

How to keep your price as low as possible

  • Pay by bank AutoPay, not a card, to avoid the $5/mo card charge or the $10/mo no-AutoPay charge.
  • Choose 1 Gig if the price gap is small: you get a 5-year guarantee instead of 4, free installation and Whole-Home Wi-Fi.
  • Add a Verizon phone line if you'd use one anyway: $15/mo off.
  • Skip reward-card offers if you might move within a year, since they come with a 1-year agreement and an early termination fee.
  • Keep the router and its box so you can return it if you cancel.

Existing customers on older plans

If you signed up before the current guarantees, your plan may not have one. Check your bill or account for a price-guarantee end date. If your price has gone up, ask Frontier to move you to a current plan with a guarantee; see how to negotiate a price increase.

How Frontier compares

Frontier's 4- and 5-year guarantees match the longest locks among major providers. Xfinity, Verizon Fios on 1 Gig and faster, T-Mobile and Mint also lock for five years; Astound offers a lifetime lock for $5/mo more. Spectrum and Brightspeed lock for 12 months internet-only. See the 2026 Price Lock Index.

Questions

Does Frontier raise prices after 12 months?

Not on current plans with a price guarantee: 4 years on Fiber 500 and 5 years on 1 Gig and faster. Taxes, fees and AutoPay discounts can still change your total.

Does Frontier have a contract?

Standard plans don't. Online reward-card offers require a 1-year agreement with a prorated early termination fee.

How much is Frontier with Verizon?

Frontier takes $15/mo off with a Verizon phone plan, making Fiber 500 $29.99/mo.

Is Frontier's price guarantee for new customers only?

The current guarantees apply to current plans. Customers on older plans should check their account for a guarantee end date and ask about moving to a current plan.
