How to cancel Cox internet
Cox became part of Spectrum in 2026, but existing Cox accounts still cancel through Cox. Here's how, and what to check on an older plan.
Call Cox at 1-800-234-3993 or cancel at a Cox store. You can't cancel online or by chat. Cox is now part of Spectrum; new Spectrum plans have no contract, but older Cox agreements keep their own terms, so check for a term commitment first. Return leased equipment at a Cox store or The UPS Store within about 10 days and keep the receipt.
What cancelling costs
How to cancel
- Set up your new service first. See what reaches your address.
- Check your agreement for a term end date.
- Call 1-800-234-3993 (retention: weekdays 8 a.m.–9 p.m. ET, Saturdays 9 a.m.–6 p.m.) or visit a Cox store.
- Set an end date and get a confirmation number. Ask whether the final bill is prorated.
Return the equipment
Bring the modem, gateway, Panoramic WiFi pods and any TV boxes to a Cox store, or ship them from The UPS Store. Get a receipt either way.
Want to stay but pay less?
Ask the retention agent for the current new-customer price before you agree to cancel. See how to negotiate your internet bill, and what Spectrum costs after the first year.
Switching instead?
Compare T-Mobile 5G Home, Verizon 5G Home and the cheapest 5G home internet. They are no-contract and self-install, so you can test one before you cancel.
