What the data can and cannot tell you, and how we are paid.

Can you tell me what's available at my exact address?

No, and neither can anyone without knocking on your door. We report what providers filed with the FCC for your town. At the street level it can differ — a fiber line that reaches most of a town can stop at the end of one road. Use our figures to know who to call, then confirm with the provider before you sign.

Why does the data list a provider I can't actually get?

Providers report where they could install service within ten business days, not where they already have customers. It is a claim about capability, and it is theirs, not ours. Where readers tell us a listing is wrong we flag it.

Is this free? How do you make money?

Free, and no account. Some links to providers earn us a commission if you sign up. That never changes the rankings or the coverage figures — those come from federal filings we do not control. Full detail in our advertiser disclosure.

What if satellite is my only real option?

On a lot of rural pages it is. Starlink, Hughesnet and Viasat reach essentially everywhere, and where no wired provider covers more than a fraction of a town, satellite is the honest answer rather than a consolation prize. We say so on those pages.

How current is this?

The FCC publishes twice a year. We are on the filing period ending 31 December 2025, published August 2026. Our town and city pages each carry the filing date they were built from, so you can see for yourself rather than trusting a vague "updated recently".

Do you sell my address or ZIP code?

No. We do not sell, rent or share what you type into the lookup box.
