The short answer

Routers and mesh systems usually hit their lowest prices around Prime Day and Black Friday, so recent sale prices are the ones to beat. For most homes, the TP-Link Deco X55 three-pack is a good buy at $150 or less. For a single Wi-Fi 7 router, the Archer BE9700 is a deal under $190. Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30; we'll add live deals here Black Friday week.

Mesh Wi-Fi picks

TP-Link Deco X55: best value mesh

TP-Link Deco X55 three-pack

Wi-Fi 6 mesh that covers up to about 6,500 sq ft with three units, with three gigabit Ethernet ports on each. It's enough for plans up to 1 Gig. It sold for $149.96 on Amazon on October 20, so don't pay much more on Black Friday. Read our Deco X55 review or check the price on Amazon.

TP-Link Deco BE25: cheapest good Wi-Fi 7 mesh

TP-Link Deco BE25 mesh unit

Adds Wi-Fi 7 and two 2.5 Gbps ports per unit for about $60 to $80 more than the X55. Worth it on a plan faster than 1 Gig or if you're buying for the next five years. Read our Deco BE25 review or check the price on Amazon.

Asus ZenWiFi BT8: best for large homes

Asus ZenWiFi BT8 mesh system

Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 that covers about 8,850 sq ft with three units, with parental controls and security that don't need a subscription. Asus lists the three-pack at $899, but Amazon has sold it for about $567, so treat anything near list as no deal. Read our ZenWiFi BT8 review or check the price on Amazon.

eero Max 7: only on a deep discount

eero Max 7 router

Fast and simple, with 10 Gbps ports and a built-in Matter, Thread and Zigbee smart home hub, but $599.99 per unit at list. Prime Day brought it to $419.99 for one and $799.99 for two. Advanced security and parental controls need eero Plus, about $100 a year. Read our eero Max 7 review or check the price on Amazon.

Single router picks

TP-Link Archer BE9700: best Wi-Fi 7 router for the money

TP-Link Archer BE9700 router

Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with a 10 Gbps WAN port and four 2.5 Gbps ports, covering about 2,600 sq ft. Amazon sells the same router as the Archer BE600, so search both names. It dropped to $189.98 on October 20; that's the price to beat. Check the price on Amazon.

TP-Link Archer AX21: budget pick

TP-Link Archer AX21 router

A Wi-Fi 6 router for apartments and plans up to about 500 Mbps. It often drops into the $50s on sale. For a little more, the Wi-Fi 7 Archer BE260 hit $98.99 in October. See the best Wi-Fi routers or check the AX21 price on Amazon.

Gaming router picks

TP-Link Archer GE800: best gaming router

TP-Link Archer GE800 gaming router

Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with a dedicated gaming port, game-traffic prioritization and multi-gig ports. It lists at $599.99 but sold for $329.99 on Prime Day 2025 and about $399 since. Anything under $400 is a good price. See the best gaming routers or check the price on Amazon.

GL.iNet Flint 2: for tinkerers

GL.iNet Flint 2 router

A Wi-Fi 6 router with two 2.5 Gbps ports that runs open-source OpenWrt, for detailed QoS, VPN and DNS settings. GL.iNet's store lists it at $169.99; Amazon has sold it for as little as $126.90. Check the price on Amazon.

Asus ROG Rapture and the faster Archer BE900 also tend to drop on Black Friday. A gaming router helps with lag spikes inside your home, but not with a slow plan or distant servers; see how to lower ping.

How to spot a fake router deal

  • Inflated list prices. The eero Max 7 and ZenWiFi BT8 rarely sell at list, so "30% off" may be the normal price. Check a price history tracker or the table above.
  • Older models. Doorbuster routers are often Wi-Fi 5 or entry-level Wi-Fi 6 models with slow ports. Skip anything without Wi-Fi 6.
  • Pack sizes. Mesh deals mix one-, two- and three-packs. Work out the price per unit.
  • Renamed models. Retailer-specific model numbers (BE9700 vs. BE600) are often the same hardware at different prices.
  • Third-party sellers. On Amazon, check that the seller is Amazon or the brand, so the warranty and returns apply.
